Keith Haring - picture taken by the Anne Lebowitz

"Keith and I painted my body in London in 1983," Bill T. Jones recalls. "It was a really long session, almost five hours! The white paint was so cold! But I was
moving a lot, and I was transformed -- I felt like a bushman. Kwong Chi shot my
movements from all kinds of angles, and Arnie Zane videotaped the whole session. "

"The whole thing was very sexual. Keith started at my forehead and gradually moved down with his brush. These incredible patterns sprouted all over my skin. Finally he reached my penis and -- 'One! Two! Three!' -- he adds the last three
stripes. He looked up at me and smiled his little smile, and I felt total communion with him."
"The artwork is both his and mine -- his painting, my poses -- and my name always goes with his on it."
Riverbed Media and Bill T. Jones collaborated on Ghostcatching, a virtual dance. Ghostcatching was originally inspired by Keith's body painting work with Bill T. Jones. To see more about this piece go to www.riverbed.com.
