Born in Montreal, trained to become a typesetter like his father, but was noiced as particularly gifted pupil in school, and books were always part of his home environment. Literary success came after a competition organised by Radio Canada. He wrote plays, novels, and authobiographical texts, where he also talks about his gay life.
