Dr. Tran received his Bachelor of Sciences at UC Irvine in California and his Medical Doctorate at St. George's University in Grenada. He completed his internal medicine training in Philadelphia at Drexel University College of Medicine. In addition to his specialty in HIV medicine, Dr. Tran also has strong interest in underserved populations and LGBT health care as well as addiction medicine and chronic hepatitis B and C.

Dr. Richie Tran is currently an internist at Callen Lorde Community Health Center and is an attending physician at St. Vincent 's Hospital in New York, NY.
