Winning local, provincial, and inter provincial events since 1997, Ryan has been well known in local skating circles for his innovative and avant garde artistic programs; his interpretation of Blur's Song 2 became a trademark piece, and his issue based The Last Temptation of Christ, Crowbar, and When a Man Loves a Man routines were refreshing in their interpretation of serious social issues in a performance art venue.

Ryan, from Nova Scotia, earned the Nova Scotia Provincial Artistic Championships, South Shore Area and Skate Dartmouth gold medals in 2000. Ryan is the webmaster of "Intensity on Ice".
