His first produced screenplay, is the sci-fi comedy "Doin' Time on Planet Earth" (1988). In 1990 Darren created and wrote pilot for Fox's drama series, "Beverly Hills, 90210" (he also penned episodes from 1990-1992 and was executive producer until 1995).

In 1990-1991, he wrote pilot for animated series based on the film "Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure", and received the second film credit as screenwriter of the Richard Grieco action-comedy vehicle "If Looks Could Kill".

In 1992 created and wrote "90210" spinoff series, "Melrose Place"; (produced and penned episodes from 1992-1995). Darren was also the creator, writer and executive producer of the short-lived, frequently revamped serial "Central Park West/CPW" (CBS).

From 1998 to present he created, wrote and directed episodes of the HBO comedy series "Sex and the City", inspired by Candice Bushnell's New York Observer articles and book of the eame name. He also wrote and produced the twentysomething comedy "Grosse Pointe" (The WB).

In 2000 Darren created, executive produced and wrote for the Fox fall drama series "The $treet". On April 2002 he announced his defection from Michael Ovitz's embattled AMG to seek representation with William Morris Agency.
