Former Benedictine monk, and founder and executive director of the "Ali Forney Center" (named in memory of a murdered transgender youth), New York City's first and only emergency shelter for homeless gay youth.

They now have two residences, and are adding 30 beds, thus housing 42 kids in all. Also they opened a clinical service center where homeless LGBT youth receive medical care, mental health treatment, HIV testing, substance abuse treatment, food, showers, and other things like reiki and acupuncture.

Though no longer affiliated with the church, Siciliano was a monk at the Monastery of Christ in the Desert in Northern New Mexico prior to his life of advocacy. Carl Siciliano lives in New York City with his partner Raymond.
