On April of 2000, openly lesbian Commissioner Patty Sheehan was elected to the Orlando City Council to represent District 4. The district includes great neighborhoods like Colonialtown North and South, Coytown, East Central Park, Lake Underhill, She was re-elected in 2004.

A former office administrator with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Sheehan serves her constituents full-time. She has been a Central Florida resident for 32 years, and has lived in her quaint Colonialtown bungalow for over a decade.

Patty Sheehan's hobbies include gardening, photography, home improvement, and bicycling. She shares her home with her partner, Jocelynn, with Amber, a Labrador Retriever, Maxine, a Chinese Crested puppy, and Lui, their cat.
