Eli was the publisher of "Top" and "Rainbow" Gay magazines in Israel. He was actively involved in the program in Gay radio broadcasting.

He is also a Colonel in the Israeli Army. He came out of the closet in the army newspaper "Bamahane".

Current Chief Education Officer Brig.-Gen. Elazar Stern was accused of shutting down the army magazine, because it published a cover article on the openly gay officer, Colonel Eli Sharon.
