Ken Setterington

Author, storyteller
Ken has been a librarian for over 20 years and has worked in libraries for almost 30. Prior to working as the Children and Youth Advocate for the Toronto Public Library, Ken was the Children's Coordinator for the Scarborough Public Library Board. The Ontario Library Association named him the "Librarian of the Year, 2000," recognizing the work he has done bringing children and books together.
Ken is a passionate promoter of Canadian children's literature. As a member of the Children's Book Panel, his recommendations for the best children's books have been heard on CBC's This Morning. He also reviews books for Canadian Living Magazine.
He is also a storyteller and has told stories in festivals and on tours internationally. He is a regular teller at the statue of Hans Christian Andersen in New York's Central Park. He has recently published a retelling of the Snow Queen and has a story in the Groundwood anthology When I Went to the Library.
In 2001, Ken won the Toronto Arts Award for Writing and Publishing. Setterington's latest children's book is Mom and Mum are getting married.
