Reference librarian at the University of Manitoba, Winnipeg; founder of the U. of M.'s NETDOC (NETworked Databases on Campus) system in 1992; co-founder of the gopher server which would eventually become UMinfo (the University of Manitoba's offical Web site) in 1993.
He is the first Manitoban to attend (and report back on) an International WWW Conference (2nd, Chicago, 1994); writer of the monthly Rainbow Lives gay history and biography column for Swerve: Winnipeg's Monthly Queer Newsmagazine; co-founder of two Winnipeg LGBTQ groups: the ACE (Arts, Culture, and Entertainment) Group, 2001; and the Out There Sports and Recreation Group, 2002.
