Frank Ricchiazzi
(1945 - living) U.S.A.
Politician
Ricchiazzi, of Laguna Beach, California, is one of the gay Republican Log Cabin Club's original co-founders in the 1970s.
At a California Republican Party convention in 1980, party leaders forced Log Cabin to host their party in a separate hotel, far from the other parties and delegates. In those years Ricchiazzi was afraid to walk the halls at state party conventions alone for fear of the insults sure to be hurled his way.
Since then he and Moller, who have been together since 1986, have become fixtures in the California Republican Party. They feel their relationship is accepted by many individual party members, and hope that the more that happens, the more they'll have a home in the GOP.
In 1990 he was a Campaign co-chair for California Governor Pete Wilson. In 1992, Frank was one of just two openly gay delegates attending the national Republican convention in Houston.
