Dame Christabel Pankhurst

Born in Manchester, political leader of the Women's Social and Political Union movement (WSPU), founded by her mother in 1903. Christabel in 1905 initiaded mildly militant tactics, designed to make the incoming Liberals to take the eomen's demand seriously. Because of their youthfulness militants were known as suffragettes.
