These guys go right back to 1986 when their claim to boy band fame started.
The pop band was formed by Clark Datchler (vocals, piano), Calvin Hayes (keyboards), and the German born Mike Nocito (bass).
Their first single made them a big hit in the UK and from then on for a whole year they continued to have hits, all the way through 1988 into 1989.
Sadly after the first album the original lead singer Clark Datchler, split from the band. The band was never the same after that.
Phil Thornalley a former member of the Cure, was brought in after Clark's exit as lead singer, to keep the band going and to make there second album.
However the band had hit the rocks by 1992, they couldn't recreate the quality hits of the first album.
In September 2007, Calvin Hayes announced that he and Mike Nocito, with a new vocalist, Danny Saxon, would be reforming Johnny Hates Jazz. They intend to join the Here and Now 80s Nostalgia Tour at Butlins, Minehead between 16-19 November 2008 for four nights. If successful, the band hopes for more dates in 2008.
