Steak (aka Stacy Rallison) graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in set design. She began working in the film industry as a Set Decorator.
She has over ten years experience in the film industry (Nickelodeon, Fox, MTV and ABC). On a break from Hollywood, she toured the United States and Canada with the band Ethyl Meatplow, as their tour manager and cross dressing go-go boy, landing in San Francisco.
In 1993 she formed Retarded Whore Productions with Brian Murphy, Felicia House and Mark Damian. They produced some of the most popular and experimental clubs in the San Francisco scene (Hellbound, Gassoline and Jesus which received a SF Bay Guardian, Best of the Bay award in 1994). These clubs showcased several seminal acts such as the Ron Athey Co., the Geraldine Fibbers, Tim "The Torture King" Cridland, Crash Worship, Foreskin 500, and Vaginal Cream Davis.
Steak is focusing on her new digital media company, Steakhaus Productions, after honing in her digital design skills at SFSU Multimedia Studies Program. Her first short, Lez B Friends/a Biker Bitch Hate Story (1998) screened internationally at Outfest, Frameline, NY Underground Film Festival, Finland's Tampere Short Film Festival and many more.
Diving in head first Steakhaus Productions shot their award winning debut feature, By Hook or By Crook (an irresistible buddy movie by Harriet Dodge and Silas Flipper) and three digital shorts (Fumbling Towards Rock, 1061 Knapsack and Ride the Hard Line) in 2000.
Frameline has an entire program for Steakhaus Productions Shorts, Straightsploitation, at the 2002 festival and the Roxie did the same in 2001.
