Camilla Gibb was born in London, England, and grew up in Toronto. She has an undergraduate degree in anthropology and Middle Eastern studies from the University of Toronto, and a Ph.D. in social anthropology from Oxford University.

University of Toronto professor; author of two novels, and numerous short stories, articles and reviews. She is the winner of the 2000 City Of Toronto Book Award for her first novel, Mouthing The Words.
