Assistant to Merrill Lynch's stockbroker Peter Bacanovic (also gay); pleaded guilty on October 2, 2002 to concealing details about Martha Stewart's alleged insider trading of ImClone stock in 2001.

His testimony played a significant role in the U.S. Justice Department and the Securities and Exchange Commission investigations against Martha Stewart. The resulting scandal led to a steep drop in the value of shares of Martha Stewart's company, and federal charges of securities fraud, obstruction of justice, and conspiracy were laid against her on June 4th, 2003.
