Elementary school teacher who submitted three children's books - Belinda's Bouquet, Asha's Mums, and One Dad, Two Dads, Brown Dads, Blue Dads - to the Surrey School Board for approval to use them in Kindergarden and Grade 1 classes.

The Board refused, and the case went first to the B.C. Supreme Court, then to the B.C. Appeals Court, and finally to the Supreme Court of Canada, which ruled in his favour in 2002.
