Born in a refugee camp in Germany during the war's aftermath to a Latvian mother and a German soldier, Edmund Cervone and his mother soon found their way to the USA.
Ed developed his art talents in Boston, at first painting Coat of Arms as a work. After he moved to New York in the 70s he started to develop his skill as a painter of erotica and achieved notoriety. At times he was referred to as "Ed of Manhattan".
He was also a skilled and appreciated landscape painter. Along his travels in Europe with his partner Ken Abel, he painted many captivating scenes, from Holland to Italy. In 1987 his beloved Ken died in a car accident.
He died of tumor, surrounded by his best friends.
