Lay minister at Augustine United Church, Winnipeg; a project coordinator with the Breaking Barriers in Education Project of the Rainbow Resource Centre in Winnipeg, facilitating anti-homophobia workshops with university faculty, teachers, and high school students.

Cantwell is the production manager for Theatre Projects and a member of Just Theatre, a local troupe working towards social justice through the theatrical arts.
