Merritt Butrick born in Gainesville, Florida, is one of only 31 actors and actresses to have worked on both the original Star Trek (up to and including Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country) and then in one of the spin-offs.
He appeared in a handful of movies and television shows. On TV, he was most popular for his role in the short-lived 80's TV series starring Sarah Jessica Parker, Square Pegs.
In movies, he was famous for his role in Star Trek's II The Wrath of Khan, and III as captain Kirk's son, Dr. David Marcus.
Merritt also appeared in the TV series Star Trek The Next Generation, and in the independent movie, Shy People. He was an incredible stage actor, and had extensive experience in California theaters. He died in New York, of AIDS complications.
