Richard Burnett
(? - living) Canada
Journalist
Syndicated gay columnist, "Three Dollar Bill"; his column was pulled from Winnipeg's Uptown magazine in 1998 after reader complaints about a column on guilt-free sex and the particularly memorable men he'd known:
"Self-respect and the right to speak out minds are basic. Even in these enlightened times with more access to queer ideas we still need reality reflected in print. Queer perspectives on culture, politics, and anything that affects our lives are an important part of our identity. It's a column, it's about ideas, it's supposed to push buttons."
