Former services coordinator of the Gay and Lesbian Resource Centre, Winnipeg; now working as a Clinical Social Worker at Klinic Community Health Centre in Winnipeg, focusing on counseling for crisis and trauma, sexual abuse and suicide.

Buchner is also a member of the National AIDS Standing Committee, the CUPE (Canadian Union of Public Employees) member of the Canadian Working Group on HIV and Rehabilitation, and Manitoba representative on the National Pink Triangle Committee.
